Patch Tuesday Roundup for April 2013

Posted on by mbordas

Today is Patch Tuesday for April 2013.  Microsoft released nine security bulletins, two of which are considered critical and address vulnerabilities that could allow remote users to execute code on your machines.  For more information and to download the updates, visit Microsoft’s Safety & Security Center.

Last week, Mozilla released Firefox version 20.0.  The current version of the browser is available at www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new.

PostgreSQL has released updates to all four of its currently supported versions (9.2.4, 9.1.9, 9.0.13, and 8.4.17).  Users of the relational database system can download the new versions at www.postgresql.org/download.

Next Tuesday, Oracle plans to release its regularly-scheduled quarterly security update.

As always, ITS recommends that you keep your computers and other devices up to date with the latest security fixes in order to protect your machines and your data from malicious code and unauthorized access.  For instructions on setting your computer to automatically check for updates, visit the ITS Security page.
