Patch Tuesday Followup

Posted on by mbordas

Microsoft announced on Friday that one of the security updates released during last week’s Patch Tuesday had the unanticipated side-effect of causing some Windows 7 users’ systems to fail.  The company has removed the faulty bulletin from Windows Update, so if you have not yet installed Tuesday’s patches, you can now do so with no issues.

If you have already installed the updates, Microsoft recommends that you uninstall the faulty update.  For instructions on how to perform the uninstall, or for more information about this issue, see the Microsoft Knowledgebase article at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839011.

Installing security updates as they become available remains an important means of protecting your systems from malware and unauthorized access.
