Patch Tuesday Roundup for December 2013
This week saw Microsoft’s final Patch Tuesday of 2013 and it brought a total of eleven security bulletins, five of which are rated as critical. The bulletins affect Microsoft Windows, Server Software, Office, Lync, Internet Explorer, Exchange, and Developer Tools.
Note that several of the bulletins address vulnerabilities in Windows XP. Microsoft plans to end its support of XP on April 8, 2014. If possible, users of XP should plan to upgrade to a more modern version of Windows in order to continue receiving security updates from Microsoft.

Adobe also released updates to its Flash and Shockwave players. For more information about these updates, see Adobe’s Security Bulletins and Advisories page.
