Critical Vulnerabilities in Symantec and Norton Security Products

Posted on by mechling

The Google security analyst team Project Zero recently uncovered critical security vulnerabilities in Symantec and Norton antivirus software. The Project Zero team called these vulnerabilities “as bad as it gets,” explaining that the flaws can corrupt computers without any action on the user’s part.

These vulnerabilities affect all seventeen Symantec products and all eight Norton products. While currently there is no evidence that these vulnerabilities have been exploited, security experts recommend patching your Symantec and Norton security products as soon as possible.
