Yahoo Encourages Users to Change Passwords

Posted on by mechling

Yahoo released a statement warning users that over 500 million account credentials – including passwords, telephone numbers, and security questions and answers – were compromised during a data breach dating back to 2014. Yahoo is notifying potentially affected users and is taking steps to secure their accounts. If you have not changed your Yahoo password since 2014, you should do so as soon as possible.

If you are currently using your 2014 Yahoo password on other sites, you should change those passwords as well. Follow these tips for creating a strong password. Security researchers recommend that you do not use the same password for multiple accounts.
