Microsoft to End Support for Windows Vista
Microsoft will end all support for the decade-old Windows Vista operating system on April 11, 2017. Once support ends, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, non-security hotfixes, free or paid support, and online technical content updates for Vista.
Unsupported software is at high risk of cyber attacks, as newly discovered security vulnerabilities in this software will no longer be corrected, allowing hackers to easily exploit them. To continue receiving support and security updates, users with computers running Windows Vista should upgrade to a currently supported operating system such as Windows 7 or Windows 10.
