Today is Patch Tuesday for July 2013. Microsoft released seven security bulletins for Windows, Internet Explorer, and several other products. Six of the bulletins fix vulnerabilities that are considered critical as they could allow remote code execution on your machine. For more information, see Microsoft’s Safety & Security Center.
Adobe released updates to address critical vulnerabilities in Flash Player, Shockwave Player, and ColdFusion. For more information, see the Adobe security bulletins and advisories page. Updated versions of the Flash and Shockwave players are available at the Adobe downloads page. Instructions for applying the ColdFusion updates are available on the ColdFusion help site.
Last week, Apple released security updates for its OSX operating system to address vulnerabilities in its Quicktime media player. These updates are available using the OSX Software Update feature or from the Apple support downloads page (choose Security Update 2013-003 for the version of OSX you are running).
