Phishing Advisory March 2019

WARNING: Keep an eye out for fraudulent bitcoin emails with subjects relating to your password and that your account has been “hacked”. These emails threaten to exploit your web browsing history and camera, and request payment to a Bitcoin wallet. These emails are not legitimate, do not respond to these emails or remit any payment.

Forward suspicious emails as an attachment to phishing@usc.edu for investigation (for instructions, visit itservices.usc.edu/reportingphishing). For tips on how to spot fraudulent (aka phishing) emails in the future, visit itservices.usc.edu/security/phishing.

Now is also a good time to secure your accounts. For tips, visit itservices.usc.edu/security/passwordtips.
